Review of Audi TT RS

Posted in Audi on 24.10.11

Of all the Audi motors ever built the TT is, in our eyes, the most beautiful, and of all the Audi TT models that have been released, the Audi TT RS is outstanding; awesome if you prefer. But to avoid the risk of hyperbole let’s look at some facts and figures so that you can make up your own mind.

First let’s look under the hood. What you will see might look a little strange, certainly for an Audi. The engine is a five cylinder turbocharged unit and this is the only Audi that uses a five cylinder engine. If is lust 2.5 litre (TFSI) yet is delivers a surprising 340 bhp and has no problem beating a Porsche Cayman S from the lights or the starting grid. The acceleration time from 0 to 62 mph is 4.6 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

The gearbox is a straight forward six speed manual, which might be a little disappointing if you were hoping to see a paddle shift tiptronic system, but it is quite slick and gear changes are fast. It has a light clutch pedal too.

The Audi Quattro four wheel drive system is standard and this works very well especially in wet and slippery conditions. The car has a good balance and is has very agile handling. The suspension is lower than on other TT models and considerable use is made of aluminium sections in the body which held weight distribution. As you would expect no body roll is noticeable even when taking tight corners quickly.

There is an optional extra called ‘magnetic ride’ which is essentially an adjustable suspension and includes a sports setting which firms things up a little for even better cornering performance.

All models also have a sports engine performance mode which adjust the ECU to give an improved throttle response which will on the downside reduce the economy but on the upside make the exhaust note sound even better. Keep your finger well away from the sports button and you can get a very respectable 29 mpg.

Top 5 Best Selling Audis

Posted in Audi on 11.09.11

When it comes to giving a car insurance quote, Audi would nearly always be one of the most sought after policies. They finished 2010 with 1,092,400 sales worldwide, an increase of 15 per cent. In the UK alone, Audi sold 99,828 vehicles and it stands as Europe’s best selling premium brand. Audi’s largest market is Germany, with China a close second, USA third and the UK a close forth. The Audi’s clean diesel TDI range are big sellers due to their market leading fuel economy.

The Audi A1, A3, A4, A5, and A6 are leaders in their individual markets and are regularly amongst the top five of Audi’s best selling vehicles. The sporty Audi A1 has won many awards as the current best super-mini.

The Audi A3 is a practical small family car with a good price and lean fuel economy. It competes with cars like the VW Golf as a premium level hatchback with prices starting at just under £15,000.
The Audi A4 is one of the most popular Audis on the market which has granted this saloon a near cult status. At just over £20,000 it is a leader in quality and specification.

Audi excels in its executive cars – the Audi A5 is the more affordable compact executive model. It is a large cruiser blessed with Audis typical elegant and understated style. Its prices start at around £23,000.

The Audi A6 is the flagship executive car. It is nearly unparalleled in its refinement and comfort. The ergonomically designed cabin is ideal for the long haul motorway journeys common to business executives. Car insurance quotes for the above vehicles are in high demand and all offer reasonable insurance groups.

Audi will always be a market leading brand due its obsession with quality and refinement. Whereas some cars might cut corners on engineering and build, this typically reliable German brand stickles on all the finer details to ensure quality.

Audi S4

Posted in Audi, Reviews on 25.06.11

A lot of avid car fans love to have cars with powerful engine. As a car lover myself, I personally love cars with superbly powerful engine hidden under their hoods. It is one thing to own a fully features sports car with high powered engine, and it is another thing to own a regular luxury sedan with unlimited amount of power just waiting to be revved up. When it comes to concealing engine potential behind nice looking form factor, Audi S4 is among the best.

The 2010 Audi S4 is actually a complete redesign over the 2008 version of this series. The exterior design is simply beautiful. Lines are properly streamlined and all the features that express speed and power are carefully concealed behind utter luxury. It still has strong sporty touches in different areas, mainly the front grill of the car, just to state that this car has a lot to offer.

Instead of using large V8 engine like the previous version, the 2010 Audi S4 uses supercharged V6 engine offering high fuel efficiency while still producing more torque compared to its previous V8 counterpart. The handling offered by this car is exceptional and you can maximize the power this car has without worrying about losing stability and control along the way.

If you are looking into luxury cars with superb performance, this car is definitely worth considering. You will have a nice mix of sports car and luxury sedan with the 2010 Audi S4 being your car of choice.

Audi R8 Spyder V10

Posted in Audi, General on 20.06.11

If you desire a vehicle that is stylish, fast and dramatic then look no further than the Audi R8 Spyder V10. It’s the perfect summer car as the roof folds down to reveal the gorgeous interior that is perfectly suited to the stylish and sophisticated individual.

The Audi R8 Spyder V10 has been described as both epic and ordinary, which may seem like an odd combination yet in fact it’s the perfect combination. The super fast vehicle offers a practical yet feisty vehicle, that can be toned down on weekdays but revved up on the weekends, with the engine behaving quietly when you need it to be but noisy when you want it to! It handles commuting and a motorway as well as it handles spiralling country roads and mountain drives.

The Audi R8 Spyder V10 is quite a step up from the original R8 in price and comes in at £8,690 over the standard model and one negative point is the space, which is certainly limited on this model in order to encase the fold down roof. Saying this however no one in their right mind would buy this vehicle if they intended to carry around a large family or a lot of equipment.

The noise the engine makes is every car fanatics dream and that’s hardly surprising when it encases an impressive pair of TT RS straight-fives and a Formula One V10 engine on top of heaps of powerful torque.

This model is super fast and many who drive the vehicle can’t get the hang of the shift in power, which goes from 6,000 rpm up to an astounding 8,700 rpm, which in fact means 0-62 in just over 4 seconds. The Audi R8 Spyder V10 is 100kg heavier than the coupe, which only illustrates how much more power has been added to this model.

When checking out this vehicle online you will probably want to have a look for some insurance quotes – a cost which needs to be considered before buying this fast car. If you click here now you can receive a quote quickly and easily from a top insurance company.

Audi A1

Posted in Audi, General on 05.06.11

Audis are a very popular choice for both the young and the old, this is mainly due to the fact that there are so many different styles available, some are more sporty, others are a little business like, a few offer more space such as the Q7 for example and others offer a family vehicle style, for example the A3 that still looks high status.

If you wish to insure any one of the above vehicles then you will be met with a range of providers, visiting a website is often the easiest solution and will allow you to sift through a range of providers at the click of a button. Once you have seen your perfect match, the website will more than likely ask you to ‘click here now’ in order to be taken to the next level of the process, which will more than likely require a few more details prior to finalising the deal.

The Audi A1 is a popular choice for many and comes in the shape of a more affordable vehicle that is still very stylish. At just 1.4 of engine size, this model is also classed as a lower-risk vehicle when it comes to insurance. The sub-compact vehicle however still offers 1.4 TFSI Attraction 6-speed manual form.

This is certainly the vehicle that Audi’s new generation of customers are lusting after and it is no wonder when it offers progressive design, advanced technology and uncompromising quality as well as an impressive faultless driving experience.

The Audi A1 comes in two different style; these include the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Attraction 6-speed manual and the A1 1.4 Ambition 6-speed manual. Both of the above models are also available with the option of a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. This in turn means the vehicle will be available with a steering wheel mounted paddle shifter

Audi Q3

Posted in Audi, General on 30.05.11

The term compact Sports Utility Vehicle does sound somewhat strange. SUVs are supposed to be massive by definition, cars that can fit your whole family in and then some and do it smoothly and without fuss (although using a lot of petrol!). Now though there are a whole host of smaller SUVs which come at a lower price, still can fit a good few people in, and can get you about a lot faster as well. The Audi Q3 is one of these compact SUVs and a luxury one at that, offering you a great deal of comfort and throwing loads of state at the art multimedia functions at you so that sometimes if it feels like you are driving an iPhone. If I make his sound bad then I shouldn’t be, its actually rather good fun.

The style of the car owes more to previous Audis than it does to other SUVs in the market as it looks like a bigger version of one of their coupes. Managing to make an SUV look really sporty is no mean feat so hats off to Audi, but it is exactly what they have been doing for many years now so we really should have expected.

One of the great things about the Audi Q3 is that it has several modes for driving that will suit different areas and different people. These are not the usual driving modes that seem to do absolutely nothing to the car other than say “sport mode” on the display. The engine management and the optional adaptive dampers actually change how the car feels which is upsettingly rather impressive.
The Audi Q3 seems to be a rather good compromise between a sporty smaller car and a large SUV. Plenty of room for passengers and a big boot – measuring 460 to 1,365 litres in capacity – combined with a fun drive means you get the best of both worlds. At well under £30,000 when it comes out, the Q3 will be available in a year or so at a very reasonable price as a used car.

2010 Audi R8: Best Audi Yet?

Posted in Audi on 02.03.11

I think it is safe to say that the Audi R8 is definitely the best sports car by Audi so far. It is even considered as one of the best cars in the world, and certainly among the most capable ones. You will recognize this car instantly from its unique exterior design, but the true potential lies under its hood.

You can choose between V8 and V10 engines and start enjoying the thrill of driving this car immediately. The V8 engine offers superb power and performance while the V10 engine is designed for aggressive speed lovers who like to push their cars to the max. You will also love the fact that both engines – definitely the best there are in their classes – perform effortlessly; hit the throttle and you will hear the beautiful sound of Audi’s V8 or V10 hitting 8,250 RPM in a matter of seconds.

With powerful engine come greater risks. Audi understands this too well and quickly compensate by adding a lot of security features. Airbags are strategically placed and added security features are installed to make sure you are well protected. Crash tests were also conducted before this car was released to ensure maximum safety.

This car is definitely comparable to more famous sports car including the Lamborghini Gallardo. Since Audi R8 is much more affordable and provides on-par performance – if not better – compared to Gallardo, you should really consider getting an R8 instead. It has the same exotic look as well, allowing you to make a bold statement as you arrive in places.

Audi Q7

Posted in Audi, Reviews on 24.02.11

Although Audi is mainly known for superb sedans and roadsters, the car manufacturer also produces mini vans, crossovers, and SUVs. The best car to get if you are looking for an Audi SUV would have to be the Audi Q7, especially the 2010 version. This car offers so much to its driver and it is definitely one of the best SUVs available on the market today.

The one thing I instantly love about the 2010 Audi Q7 is its sleek interior. You will be amazed to see just how well the product designers and engineers of Audi placed buttons, add accents and various touches, and install technological and luxury features to the interior of this car perfectly. You will be able to enjoy driving this car while accessing all the features offered by it without hassle.

Even though this is an SUV, this car is actually very comfortable. If you are looking for the best family car to get, this can be a very valuable option as well. Opt for models with air suspension and you will feel just how comfortable an SUV can be even when driving off road.

The models that are equipped with air suspension are also very easy to handle. The handling is responsive in general – even in the basic model of 2010 Audi Q7 – but with air suspension holding the car firmly maneuvering through heavy obstacles is even easier. Safety is still Audi’s primary concern, and this car is equipped with safety features you will certainly love.

2010 Audi A5

Posted in Audi on 25.10.10

Audi produces a lot of high performance cars over the past several years, and the 2010 Audi A5 is definitely one of the best. It is a superbly built sports coupe with powerful engine and luxurious features in the interior. What’s best about the 2010 Audi A5 is that it is very pleasant to drive; it may be less powerful compared to other cars in its class, but it is by far the easiest one to drive.

The Audi A5 offers good fuel consumption to performance ratio. Its 2.0T model is perfect for those of you who want to have a sports coupe but still want to save a lot of money on fuel and be eco-friendly. Most energy-efficient engine may be less powerful, but that is not the case with 2010 Audi A5.

There is also a cabriolet version of Audi A5 available, although the option is limited to soft top only. If you live in areas where having a convertible would be something enjoyable, Audi A5 can be the perfect option to get. The interior features and built quality are simply unrivaled in its class, and you will certainly enjoy some serious driving experiences with this car.

Handling is another strong suit of Audi A5 just like mentioned earlier in this article. The steering is highly responsive, allowing you to control the car perfectly even through difficult maneuvers. This year’s Audi A5 is actually the third A5 generation so expect to see a lot of superb improvements in almost every department as well.
